Veterans Action Network provides support to veteran memorial projects
In 2018, Veterans Action Network made financial contributions to several worth veterans memorial organizations. Although VAN’s mission is to support and empower veterans in the American political and public policy process, it is equally important to support the great organizations who dedicate their time, talent and resources to honoring American veterans and their families. Veterans Action Network works within communities by organizing veterans toward action, including grassroots organizing and political and policy issue education.
One such organization that VAN supported this year was Folds of Honor. The organization, established in 2007, provides the children of fallen and disabled military veterans with educational scholarships.
Veterans Action Network also made a grassroots contribution to The Highground, a memorial park in Wisconsin that honors fallen soldiers from the Vietnam War and was established by Vietnam War veterans.
Finally, Veterans Action Network also provided financial support to the National Military Families Association. The organization’s mission is to provide services for the families of military veterans, because as we all know, the families of military members serve and sacrifice for our nation as well.
Veterans Action Network is committed to not only supporting our veterans in the political process, but also to identify worthy organizations who provide much needed services to our nation’s veterans and their families. Where the government falls short, organizations like VAN and the charities we support need to pick up the slack and help repay the debt our nation owes to its military veterans.
