VAN, American Legion organize for bedlinens at Camp American Legion
Over the weekend, volunteers from Veterans Action Network teamed up with the American Legion of Wisconsin to gather new bed linens for Camp American Legion. The campground, located in the northwoods of Wisconsin, offers a scenic getaway for veterans and their families at no cost. According to Camp American Legion’s website, the campground seeks to, “Provide rest, relaxation, recuperation and rehabilitation to Wisconsin veterans of all ages”. The Camp offers a scenic, peaceful getaway for veterans struggling with psychological conditions as a result of their service in the United States Armed Forces and is also a great place for veterans to reconnect with their families after long periods of deployment.
Camp American Legion has 21 fully furnished cabins for veterans and their families. However, after years of heavy use, the bed linens provided at the cabins had become unusable. That is why Veterans Action Network teamed up with the American Legion of Wisconsin to provide new bed linens for the cabins so the Camp could continue its mission of providing rest and mental rehabilitation for Wisconsin veterans. On October 13, Veterans Action Network volunteers presented Camp American Legion with hundreds of new bed linens for the cabins, ensuing that veterans and their families would continue to be able to use the great facilities and services provided at Camp American Legion.
