Veterans Action Network Releases Video Highlighting Veterans’ Healthcare Woes
RICHMOND, Virginia – Veterans Action Network has released a video highlighting employees mistakes made at the cost of veterans’ health, finances and lives. The video is a result of an online advertising campaign before Election Day on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
The video highlights people who have been accused of over-prescribing opioid painkillers, hiding lists of people in need of mental healthcare and overpaying benefits to veterans and the VA expecting for the overpaid benefits to be paid back.
While veterans have been getting help, other veterans have died waiting on help, but did not receive it because of the employee’s mistakes and dishonesty.
In 2017, Congress passed legislation that made it easier to “remove, demote or suspend” employees for misconduct or poor performance. The Department of Veterans Affairs is on notice for those who have served the United States.
The mission of the Veterans Action Network is to engage in the political and policy process at the local, state, and federal level to hold elected officials responsible for how the US government wages war and how it provides the proper support to veterans afterward.
